The Gileam - Wave Riders of the Fae World
Once spring arrived, I found myself by the river watching the spirits return from their hibernation in other worlds. Near some rapids, I noticed many energies riding the cusps of each rapid, like a surfer full of joy.
When I reached out, these beings came to shore. One of them spoke with me while the others fed on offerings I left for them. The seemed to be aware of one specifically.
Tal was about six inches tall with a blue and green complexion, hat, scraggly hair, and utility pouches along a belt slung over his shoulder. He asked many questions. Always using “we” not “I”.
After a time, I noticed a regal figure standing silently and watching as Tal spoke, often nodding to the figure in the distance. When I asked, he said the figure was Nor, King of the Gileam. And he was.
He had a similar complexion, but wore a natural crown and held a regal staff. He’s never spoken to me. The king stands off in the distance, protected, and uses Tal as his squire to interface safely with me.
These beings were a community of river spirits who live on the energy of the river and ride the waves of the rapids. They have a defined territory and don’t leave it. It is all about community, “we” not “me”.
So if you ever find yourself next to a river, ask yourself what you might not be seeing. Close your eyes, focus, and maybe someone will present themselves in mind or the physical.
Maybe an organized group of Fae with their own kingdom will appear.
If you do or have experienced similar, you’re not alone.
